what am i running on my homelab (late 2025)
not much has changed
I like to keep my audience updated on the services and hardware I'm running in my homelab. I know no one really cares, but it's fun to look back and see what has changed and what hasn't.
Networking
My UDM Pro is running UniFi OS 4.4.0 and Network 9.5.12. I usually stay on the "Early Access" release channel because I think it's fun.
NEW PATCH PANEL ALERT! I splurged a bit recently and upgraded my patch panel to Cat6A.
NEW CAT8 CABLES! Entirely unnecessary and probably not even real CAT8, but HEY, IT'S FUN!
NEW WAP! Definitely needed since I moved into a larger house. My Tesla couldn't get WiFi in the driveway, so I went with the U7 Pro. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Servers
Same old, same old. I have two Hyve Zeus servers with a good amount of RAM, two Xeons in each, and a 1TB SSD in each. They get the job done.
Services
Harvester v1.6.0
RKE2 1.33 (whatever the latest version is—too lazy to check)
SmokePing: Standard install, nothing special. I want to measure latency since I have Starlink.
TeslaMate: A really awesome self-hosted Tesla data viewer and aggregator. I also have Tessie, but TeslaMate seems to have more battery data available.
Uptime Kuma: Not really used.
NextDNS Cron to Update IP: My IP changes frequently with Starlink. I decided to programmatically call my DNS provider, NextDNS, using a Kubernetes cronjob. Works like a charm.
ArgoCD: Deploys in an app-of-apps style.
Traefik: Reverse proxy.
MetalLB: Handles load balancer duties.
Longhorn: Handles storage duties.
Cheers,
Joe
